Pioneering Human-Centered Innovation

I hold a PhD from The University of Manchester, which I completed ahead of schedule on a fully funded, highly competitive doctoral scholarship. My work sits at the intersection of management science, AI governance, and digital resilience, focusing on how UK institutions and businesses can adopt AI responsibly while avoiding costly organisational, operational, and reputational failures.
My doctoral research developed AI-driven frameworks to assess the impact of AI and data-intensive tools on organisational reputation. This work directly supports Pillar Two of the UK AI Strategy by promoting ethically governed, evidence-based AI deployment in institutional decision-making. I analysed how AI adoption influences governance, decision-making, and reputational risk, and was nominated for the Manchester Doctoral College Excellence Award. My core research addresses a critical gap: diagnosing organisational, operational, and reputational risks in AI adoption before crises arise. This is directly relevant to UK businesses, given that 46% of AI proofs-of-concept fail to scale, 36–42% of projects are abandoned, and 70% of SMEs exceed budgets by 20–70% (2024–25 data). Only 9% of UK firms had adopted AI by 2023 (ONS), and 35% of IT decision-makers cite lack of expertise as the main barrier (ANS/YouGov, 2025).
Over the next five years, I am working on AI adoption resilience across universities, SMEs, and public institutions. I am developing open-access diagnostic frameworks to assess AI readiness, governance maturity, and reputational risk prior to large-scale implementation, and producing policy briefs and advisory reports for government and professional bodies on AI governance, SME digital transformation, and innovation management.
My goal is to shape national conversations on responsible AI implementation and organisational resilience — positioning the UK as a global leader not only in AI invention but in AI implementation excellence, reducing costly failures, strengthening institutional trust, and improving productivity across sectors. At the moment I am running structured mentorship networks, widening participation programmes, and pro bono AI advisory workshops for small charities and social enterprises. Supporting digitally excluded organisations to adopt AI responsibly will enhance social value and community resilience alongside economic growth.
My work aligns directly with the UK National AI Strategy and the AI Opportunities Action Plan by strengthening digital resilience, governance capability, and leadership capacity. By integrating rigorous research, practical diagnostics, and national talent development, I am doing my best to contribute to building a resilient, ethically grounded AI ecosystem that serves UK businesses, universities, and society at large.
"The challenge of the next decade isn't just about the speed of computation, but the wisdom of our governance."
